With a small roster on scholarship for the coming year, this should provide a golden opportunity for the new arrivals to make their mark with plenty of playing time. I suspect that KK will need at least a couple of walk-on's for this year.

It's a real positive that SCU is a finalist in recruiting some quality players for 2009. Regarding the upcoming new recruit campus visits, with all else being equal, I suspect that there is an inherent advantage in being the last school to host the recruit. That is, unless the recruitment can be "closed" before all competing schools can be visited. It's impressive that KK already has commitments from three 3-star recruits for 2009 where many schools still have -o- recruits. I think that good recruiting breeds added recruiting - and that this will be a selling point for the campus visitors.

With respect to the "soft" non-league home schedule, I'm under the impression that it's extremely difficult to find "majors" to visit the Bay Area when they can usually fill their home arenas with lower-level schools willing to travel. This might help explain why the 4th slot remains unfilled for the Cable Car Tournament. I suspect that once KK raises the level of Bronco basketball, it'll be easier to schedule home-and-home arrangements with other quality basketball programs.
